    Prohibited & Restricted Goods

    Last updated: August 2026

This Prohibited & Restricted Goods Policy explains which products may not be suitable for FLIPSHIP LTD, trading as FlipShip, and how we review products before any shipping support is confirmed.

This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions and Shipping Rules & Acceptable Use Policy.

    1. Purpose of this policy

FlipShip provides reviewed shipping support for approved retailers and other businesses selling products that may require more than a standard courier label.

We do not provide open-access shipping for any product, parcel or destination.

Every product, packaging setup, quantity, collection address, destination and shipping route must be reviewed before support is confirmed.

    2. Approval is required

You must not use FlipShip services, courier labels, courier support or account access for any product that has not been reviewed and approved by FlipShip.

Approval may be limited to specific:

    • Products
    • Product classifications
    • Product quantities
    • Packaging formats
    • Parcel sizes and weights
    • Collection addresses
    • Delivery destinations
    • Courier services
    • Shipping routes
    • Transport modes

If any part of the approved setup changes, you must contact FlipShip before shipping the affected products.

    3. Products FlipShip may review

FlipShip may review products such as:

    • Safety matches
    • Perfume and fragrance products
    • Reed diffusers
    • Room sprays
    • Candles
    • Essential oils
    • Aerosols
    • Fragrance oils
    • Mixed gift sets
    • Other retail gift, home-fragrance or lifestyle products that may require additional shipping checks

A review does not guarantee approval.

Some products may be suitable for one courier service, route, quantity or destination but not another.

    4. Products that are prohibited

FlipShip will not knowingly support the shipment of illegal, unsafe, misdeclared or prohibited goods.

This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Illegal goods
    • Stolen goods
    • Counterfeit goods
    • Products prohibited by applicable law
    • Products prohibited by the relevant courier
    • Products deliberately misdescribed, under-declared or concealed
    • Products supported by false, missing or misleading documentation
    • Products that are unsafe to transport
    • Products that leak, spill, ignite, react or create an unacceptable risk
    • Products packed in an unsuitable or unsafe manner
    • Products that FlipShip has not reviewed and approved
    • Products that FlipShip has confirmed cannot be supported
    • Products outside the scope of the approved courier account or shipping route

    5. Restricted goods

Some products are not automatically prohibited but may be restricted.

Restricted goods may require additional checks, documentation, packaging, labelling, courier approval or route review before support can be confirmed.

    Restricted goods may include:

    • Dangerous Goods
    • Limited Quantity goods
    • Excepted Quantity goods
    • Flammable products
    • Aerosols
    • Alcohol-based products
    • Perfume and fragrance products
    • Reed diffusers
    • Room sprays
    • Essential oils
    • Safety matches
    • Candles
    • Batteries or products containing batteries
    • Liquids
    • Chemicals
    • Mixed gift sets containing more than one product type
    • Products with transport information included in Section 14 of an SDS or MSDS

FlipShip may approve, refuse, pause or limit support depending on the product, classification, quantity, packaging, collection address, destination, transport route and courier requirements.

    6. Dangerous Goods and regulated products

Some products may be subject to Dangerous Goods, Limited Quantity, Excepted Quantity, courier-specific or other regulated shipping requirements.

You must not treat these products as standard parcels unless FlipShip has reviewed and approved the product, classification, packaging, quantity, destination and shipping route.

Products such as safety matches, perfume, room sprays, reed diffusers, essential oils, aerosols and mixed gift sets may require additional checks before they can move through a courier network.

If regulated goods are submitted incorrectly, parcels may be stopped, delayed, held, returned, refused or disposed of.

In more serious cases, businesses may face courier-account restrictions, enforcement action, financial penalties or prosecution.

    7. Products requiring SDS or MSDS information

Some products may require a Safety Data Sheet, also known as an SDS or MSDS.

This may apply to products such as:

    • Perfume and fragrance products
    • Reed diffusers
    • Room sprays
    • Essential oils
    • Aerosols
    • Chemicals
    • Liquids
    • Flammable products
    • Mixed gift sets

Safety matches may require other product, classification or test documentation rather than an SDS, depending on the circumstances.

Where requested, you must provide accurate, complete and current product documentation.

If documentation is missing, outdated, incomplete, inconsistent or incorrect, FlipShip may be unable to support the product or may pause support until suitable information is provided.

    8. Product and setup changes

You must tell FlipShip before shipping if there are any changes to:

    • Product ingredients
    • Product contents
    • Product supplier or manufacturer
    • Product classification
    • SDS or MSDS information
    • Product size or volume
    • Packaging
    • Inner or outer quantities
    • Quantity per parcel
    • Outer carton or parcel size
    • Parcel weight
    • Collection address
    • Delivery destination
    • Courier service
    • Transport route

Approval for one product, packaging setup, quantity, collection address or destination does not automatically apply to another.

    9. Packaging restrictions

FlipShip may refuse or pause support where packaging is unsuitable.

This may include parcels that are:

    • Poorly packed
    • Damaged
    • Leaking
    • Overfilled
    • Incorrectly sealed
    • Missing required marks, labels or documentation
    • Packed differently from the reviewed setup
    • Too large or heavy for the agreed courier service
    • Likely to be rejected by the courier network
    • Unsafe for handling or transport

You are responsible for ensuring that goods are packed safely, securely and in accordance with any instructions provided by FlipShip or the relevant courier.

    10. Destination restrictions

Some destinations may not be available for certain products.

UK Mainland shipping may be supported as standard, subject to review, approval and courier availability.

Other destinations are reviewed separately, including:

    • Northern Ireland
    • Channel Islands
    • Isle of Man
    • Isle of Wight
    • Scottish Highlands
    • Scottish Islands
    • Offshore UK locations
    • Island destinations
    • Europe
    • Other international destinations
    • Routes involving ferry, sea or air transport

These destinations may require additional documentation, customs information, route checks, courier approval, Dangerous Goods documentation or different shipping arrangements.

FlipShip may refuse or pause support where a destination is unsuitable or where the correct route, approval, documentation or courier service is not available.

    11. Courier restrictions

Courier rules, accepted-goods lists, routes and service availability can change.

A product that appears suitable following a FlipShip review may still be refused, delayed, returned, held, disposed of or cancelled by the courier.

    Courier acceptance is not guaranteed.

FlipShip is not responsible for courier decisions, route changes, service suspensions, operational restrictions or changes to a courier’s prohibited or restricted goods rules, except where an issue was directly caused by FlipShip’s negligence or breach of contract.

    12. Misdeclared or concealed goods

You must not misdescribe, conceal or under-declare goods.

    This includes:

    • Describing regulated goods as standard or non-regulated goods
    • Hiding restricted items inside mixed parcels
    • Omitting relevant product information
    • Providing false or misleading product descriptions
    • Providing incorrect quantities
    • Using inaccurate weights or dimensions
    • Sending a different product from the one reviewed
    • Using labels for unapproved products, quantities or destinations
    • Submitting goods under an incorrect classification
    • Failing to declare all items contained within a parcel or gift set

Misdeclared or concealed goods may result in the immediate suspension or termination of FlipShip support.

You will be responsible for costs, losses, claims, fines, penalties, courier charges or other consequences arising from misdeclared, concealed, incorrectly described or unapproved goods.

    13. Mixed gift sets

Mixed gift sets may require additional review because they can contain more than one product type.

For example, a gift set may contain fragrance, candles, matches, sprays, liquids, oils, aerosols or other items with different shipping requirements.

You must provide full details of every item contained in the gift set, including relevant quantities and packaging information.

Approval of one item does not automatically mean that the complete gift set is approved.

The complete set, its packaging, quantity and intended route must be reviewed before support is confirmed.

    14. No guarantee of support

A product review does not guarantee that FlipShip can support the product or shipment.

FlipShip may refuse, limit or withdraw support where:

    • Product information is incomplete
    • Documentation is missing, outdated or unclear
    • Packaging is unsuitable
    • The collection address is not approved
    • The destination is not supported
    • The courier will not accept the goods
    • The route or transport mode is unsuitable
    • The shipment creates compliance, safety or operational concerns
    • Regulations or courier requirements change
    • The product is outside the scope of our service
    • The product or shipment differs from the setup previously reviewed

    15. Customer responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided to FlipShip is accurate, complete and up to date.

You are also responsible for ensuring that goods are:

    • Legal to sell and supply
    • Legal and suitable to ship
    • Correctly described and classified
    • Properly packed
    • Within the approved quantities
    • Suitable for the intended destination
    • Submitted using the approved courier route
    • Accompanied by any required marks, labels and documentation

FlipShip relies on the information you provide and is not responsible for issues caused by inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or misleading information.

    16. Consequences of misuse

If you use FlipShip services for prohibited, restricted, unapproved, misdeclared, concealed or unsafe goods, FlipShip may:

    • Refuse the shipment
    • Cancel the label
    • Pause your account
    • Suspend access
    • Terminate services
    • Refuse future support
    • Pass on courier charges, surcharges, penalties or other costs
    • Recover losses, expenses or administration costs
    • Notify the courier, regulator or relevant authority where required
    • Require additional checks before considering any future shipments

These actions do not affect any other rights or remedies available to FLIPSHIP LTD.
